Jordan Clarke - Performance Coach
Jordan is an exceptionally committed, high-performance triathlete with a proven record of excellence across long-distance racing. He has completed IRONMAN Wales twice, an outstanding performance that reflects both consistency and elite-level dedication. Jordan has also won Cardiff Triathlon three years in a row and regularly finishes on the podium across his races, establishing himself as one of the most competitive athletes within the sport.
Despite his achievements, Jordan believes he is only scratching the surface of what he can offer both as an athlete and a coach. With ambitious long-term racing goals still ahead of him, he remains deeply invested in continual development, using each season to refine his performance and coaching approach.
Alongside his own racing, Jordan has coached a wide range of athletes to push beyond perceived limits and deliver outstanding results. He has guided athletes to personal best performances at IRONMAN events, marathons, and ultra-marathons, with every athlete he coached for a full-distance IRONMAN this year finishing with a personal best. First-time IRONMAN athletes under his guidance also completed their races with highly impressive results, reflecting the effectiveness and depth of his coaching.
One of Jordan’s proudest coaching achievements this year was preparing an athlete for the 100km Race to the Stones ultra marathon. Not only did the athlete complete the distance, but they did so with an exceptionally strong performance, highlighting Jordan’s ability to coach athletes through extreme endurance challenges with confidence and precision.
“I believe most athletes are capable of far more than they realise. My role as a coach is to remove doubt, build resilience, and help athletes discover just how deep their potential really goes. Seeing someone achieve something they once thought impossible is what drives me every day.”
Jordan’s coaching style is detail-oriented, performance-driven, and grounded in real-world experience. He brings the mindset of a high-performance athlete into every training plan, while ensuring sessions remain realistic, purposeful, and sustainable for each individual.

Abbie Sims - Performance Coach
Abbie began her triathlon journey as a complete beginner just four years ago and has since developed into a highly competitive and experienced athlete. She has raced IRONMAN Wales twice, placing 2nd in her age group at the Welsh Long Course Championships on both occasions, completed four IRONMAN 70.3 events, and finished on the podium at Cardiff Triathlon two years in a row. Abbie has also qualified for the Great Britain Age Group European Championships, reflecting her progression and consistency at a high level of the sport.
Alongside her own racing, Abbie is passionate about developing as a coach and sharing the tools, lessons, and confidence she has gained through her experiences. She believes strongly in empowering athletes with knowledge, helping them understand the process, and guiding them to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
“Triathlon has completely changed my life. I used to focus purely on strength training and aesthetic goals, but this sport has shown me how much more my body is capable of than simply how it looks. I’ve found a huge sense of purpose through triathlon, and now I want to give back, helping others discover their potential and experience everything this sport has to offer.”
Over the last 18 months, Abbie has coached both complete beginners and experienced athletes, supporting them to their first triathlons, personal best run performances, and even their first full-distance IRONMAN finishes. She takes pride in building strong coach–athlete relationships and genuinely loves every part of the coaching process.
Working shifts as a nurse, Abbie understands first-hand the challenges of balancing training with work, family, and everyday life. This experience makes her highly adaptable, empathetic, and realistic in her coaching approach, ensuring athletes feel supported and confident that their training truly fits around their lives.

Matt Croyle - Strength & Conditioning Coach
Matt Croyle is an accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach with over a decade of experience working with endurance athletes across all levels of the sport. He has supported hundreds of athletes, from grassroots competitors to elite performers, helping them build resilient, durable bodies capable of sustaining
long-term performance.
Through his role with British Triathlon, Matt has had the privilege of working closely with multiple Olympic and Paralympic medal-winning triathletes, contributing to their physical preparation and long-term athletic development. His experience at the highest level of the sport informs a practical, evidence-based approach that benefits every athlete he works with, regardless of ability or ambition.
Matt’s philosophy centres around purposeful strength training that directly supports endurance performance. His programmes focus on improving movement quality, injury resilience, and efficiency, ensuring athletes are not just stronger, but better prepared for the demands of training and racing. He believes strength and conditioning should enhance an athlete’s endurance training rather than compete with it.
As PACE Coaching’s specialist Strength & Conditioning coach, Matt provides structured programmes that integrate seamlessly with triathlon training. His work gives athletes the confidence to train consistently, manage load effectively, and unlock performance gains that go far beyond aesthetics.
"Strength and conditioning is always challenging to fit in alongside a full endurance training programme. But with coach collaboration, tweaking exercise selection, volume and intensity it can not only fit in, but compliment an endurance programme. This blend of training should allow athletes to train and race consistently for years to come"
Trusted by Olympic and Paralympic medalists, Matt brings elite-level insight to every programme he delivers, ensuring PACE athletes benefit from the same principles used at the very top of the sport. – maybe this bit could be on the coaches page but also somewhere on the front to catch peoples attention.

Matt Grantham - Performance Coach
Endurance sport has been a part of Matt’s life from an early age. He ran his first parkrun at eight and began competing in running from the age of ten, representing Welsh Schools on three occasions. Swimming and cycling were also passions, making triathlon a natural fit. He completed his first triathlon at fourteen and was immediately hooked. Over the following fourteen years, Matt has competed at European and World level across multiple distances, while achieving numerous amateur podiums and race wins, demonstrating both talent and commitment across the sport.
In 2018, a long injury layoff inspired Matt to pursue coaching. He began working with Newport Under-18 Triathletes and Cardiff Junior Triathlon Club, while completing British Triathlon coaching qualifications up to Level 2 Diploma (Personal Coach) and qualifying as a swim teacher. This experience sparked a passion for guiding others, combining his practical coaching knowledge with personal racing experience.
In August 2025, Matt joined the PACE Coaching team, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge on endurance training, long-term athlete development, and structuring programmes that balance sport with life commitments. His approach is highly personalised — rather than prescribing a single training methodology, Matt works closely with each athlete to find the plan that suits their goals, schedules, and lifestyle.
"It's been a joy to help athletes on their journey towards completing their running and triathlon goals, imparting what I've learnt and experienced over the years as an athlete and coach. My coaching philosophy isn't to prescribe a specific training methodology or philosophy on an athlete. Instead, I believe in working out what is the best fit for them and achieving their goals, alongside constant dialogue with them, structuring their training around life their non triathlon commitments".
Matt’s combination of elite racing experience, coaching qualifications, and athlete-centered approach ensures that every PACE athlete receives expert guidance tailored to their journey.
